Learn Japanese. Another feature in the homemaker’s hat!

“There is no limit to what we, as women can achieve” – Michelle Obama

In most families, women are the primary caretakers of the children and the elderly. While some of these trends are changing, many women still do become the primary caregivers. It’s indeed amazing how they manage to multi-task. Juggling between their home-life and their passion or their education or their careers. Take a bow ladies!

In India, there are many festivals to celebrate women and the feminine. Navratri for one is celebrated for 9 days to honour women Goddesses and the female. Speaking of Navratri, in South India, there is a tradition to decorate a small set of steps and display dolls on it. A similar arrangement is done during the festival of Hinamatsuri in Japan. Hinamatsuri is girl’s day in Japan. It is a religious festival, celebrated on the 3rd of March each year for the happiness and prosperity of the girls.

Come March, we celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th. This March, why not we women try something new? Something to act as an impetus to our career growth? Something to stimulate our brains? Something fun and outside the mundane minutiae of everyday life?

Learn Japanese! Given our ability to multi-task, this could be a glorious feather to our caps to add. Getting into a hobby that is quite different from the chores calling our attention, could add the much-needed breath of fresh air. Learning a new language is also said to stimulate the brain. Therefore by learning Japanese, we can keep it active.

Age no bar! It’s time to bring our gal-pals along and do something fun. And our dear Men! Why not, gift the significant women in your lives a new hobby?

Ladies, let’s invest time in ourselves for our personal growth! The world owes it to us!
