Learning a foreign language has become an important aspect when it comes to taking up career jobs. Japanese language is one such language which is in the limelight and has become more prominent as there are many tie ups and exchanges expected with Japanese Companies for mutual benefit of both the countries. These companies have been coming up in India to establish manufacturing base and thereby giving thrust to better business relationship between India and Japan. At Sakuraa Nihongo Resource Centre (SNRC), an institute specializing in Japanese language, one does not just learn the language but also gets exposure to the Japanese Culture, through various workshops and camps. Some of the workshops conducted are on Japanese calligraphy, Origami, etc. In the calligraphy workshops, students get an insight into the calligraphy of Japan and also write their own calligraphies. In the Origami workshops, they learn more about the art of folding paper, the most famous being that of the paper crane. It is said that if one were to make a 1000 paper cranes, their wish would be granted. Interesting, right?

There are also business etiquette programs that highlight the basic etiquette followed in Japan, such as bowing as a form of greeting; the right way to receive a business card to tea ceremonies. It is important to know these etiquette while interacting with Japanese clients and people. A lot of companies have benefited from these programs. SNRC provides training for corporates as well as students. The conversation classes help students to pick up the Japanese language faster and improve their communication skills. They have a basic course and an advanced course. The basic course helps to improve vocabulary and pronunciation as well as to be able to speak or converse in Japanese. The advanced course is for those who want to improve their fluency in the language as well as to deal with clients. Learning at SNRC has been a great learning experience for me. We have teachers, who are very passionate about their work. The classes have always been fun and yet educative. As a student, learning Japanese at SNRC has been very beneficial more so because the teaching here has been really innovative. . For each level we don’t just have information about what is to be learnt for that level but also extra information regarding Japan, the people and their customs and traditions.

Apart from offering courses in Japanese language, SNRC also offers Japanese to English translations and vice versa, Japanese Interpretation services, etc. Bilingual staffing is also a provided wherein the staff members can either be under a contract or permanent or specialize in Japanese as well as English or their mother tongue. SNRC has a variety of students ranging from school going students to university students to housewives to working professionals from various companies. The organization itself is organised and the courses well structured and hence has been extremely developmental in its approach. All in all, if you want to learn Japanese, then the best place is Sakuraa Nihongo Resource Centre. They currently have two centres Bengaluru, one in 18th cross Malleswaram and the other in Koramangala.
