JLPT December 2026 Exam Guidelines for Hyderabad Students

If you are a student or IT professional looking to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) from Hyderabad, it is important to know the official testing infrastructure.

Currently, there is no authorized JLPT test centre located directly within Hyderabad or Telangana. However, hundreds of Hyderabad-based candidates successfully take the exam every year by registering at the nearest official test centres in South India.

Nearest Official JLPT Centres to Hyderabad

For candidates travelling from Hyderabad, the most accessible and well-connected testing centres are:

  • Bangalore: Conducted by the Bangalore Nihongo Kyooshi-kai (BNK). (Highly recommended due to short travel times and direct overnight trains/flights).

  • Chennai: Conducted by the ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI Tamil Nadu Centre.

  • Pune: Conducted by the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association, Pune (JALTAP).

How to Register from Hyderabad

Because you will be competing for seats with local candidates in Bangalore or Chennai, early registration is critical.

  • Ensure you monitor the specific regional websites for BNK (Bangalore) or ABK-AOTS (Chennai) as their application windows open.

  • Pro Tip for Hyderabad Candidates: When booking your train or flight, ensure you arrive in the testing city at least one day prior to the exam. Reporting time is strictly followed, and late entry due to same-day travel delays is not permitted.

JLPT Registration in India — Step by Step

1. Check the official JLPT list of Indian test cities and identify the authorised local host institution for the city where you intend to take the examination.

2. Visit that local host institution’s official website and check whether applications for your chosen examination session and JLPT level are open.

3. Read the local organiser’s instructions carefully, including the application dates, available levels, required information, fee, payment process and seat availability.

4. Complete the application through the method specified by that authorised local host institution.

5. Review all details carefully before submitting, and retain the application confirmation or receipt supplied by the organiser.

Important: JLPT registration procedures are not identical across all Indian test cities. Candidates should follow only the current instructions published by their chosen city’s authorised host institution.

JLPT Examination Fees in India

Examination fees and payment instructions should be verified directly with the authorised local host institution for the candidate’s chosen test city before applying.

SNRC provides Japanese-language training and course guidance but does not collect JLPT examination fees or process JLPT examination applications.

Need help choosing the right JLPT level?

Your appropriate starting point depends on what you have already studied, your target JLPT level and your intended examination cycle. Share your current level and country of residence so that SNRC can provide the most relevant available course guidance.

Complete beginners normally begin with JLPT N5 guidance. Learners with previous Japanese study should share their present level before selecting the next course.

JLPT Results and Certification

Online results for the July 2026 JLPT became available on 27 August 2026. Candidates should use the official JLPT results page and select the location where they took the examination. The period of availability and the information displayed can vary by test location.

The official online result date for the December 2026 examination should be checked on the JLPT website when announced.

All examinees receive a Score Report, and successful examinees also receive a Certificate of Proficiency. For candidates outside Japan, these documents are distributed through the local host institutions. The official JLPT guidance indicates that reports for the July examination are normally received around mid-October, while reports for the December examination are normally received around mid-March.

SNRC Preparation for JLPT 2026

SNRC has been preparing students for JLPT since the year 2000 through structured Japanese language courses in Bangalore and live online Japanese classes for learners across India. Our preparation programme includes structured coursework covering all tested sections (vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening), weekly mock tests, personalised feedback from certified instructors, and access to SNRC’s JLPT question banks built over 25 years.
Learners targeting the December 2026 JLPT should begin preparation as early as possible. The right batch depends on your present Japanese level, target JLPT level and weekly study availability. Complete beginners usually start with JLPT N5, while learners who have already studied Japanese should speak with SNRC before choosing the next level.

BNK India (bnkindia.in) is the official Bangalore test centre. SNRC students are guided on BNK registration timelines as part of their enrolment support.

If you are preparing for the December 2026 JLPT, speak with SNRC before choosing your level or batch.
