Happy Valentine’s Day!

Customs and traditions vary from person to person and country to country. The way people celebrate events and festivals is influenced by their own culture as well as the cultures of the people they interact with.

February brings with it the official end of winter and the onset of the spring and hotter months. It also reminds us to celebrate the month of love with our loved ones.

Do you know how Japan celebrates Valentine’s Day? The women offer chocolates to all their male colleagues and friends. A special chocolate is offered to the significant other in their life, to express their love. The lucky men reciprocate exactly a month later, in March to their lady love.

Learning about other cultures is indeed fascinating. It is also equally interesting to learn cultures through languages. Learning Japanese has its benefits from giving people opportunities to work with Japanese companies or study abroad in Japan.

Aside from work and education, how about learning a new language with your partner? This February why not celebrate Valentine’s Day differently? Learn Japanese!! You can practice with your partner or friend and encourage each other as you progress through each milestone. Remember the days in school and college, when learning with a friend made Learning so much fun?

Learning Japanese together also allows you to explore different media together. You can watch anime or read manga with each other.

So why not get started right away? Get your friend, spouse, or significant other to join you in this interesting journey!
