Four Tips to start learning a new language

Are you learning a new language?

Do you speak more than one language?

Do you frequently come across native speakers of other languages, speaking in their mother tongue with you?

If you answered yes to even any one of the above three questions, then this article is for you!

Learning / coming across a new language is always exciting. It is said to activate the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

To learn any new language, start with the basics – phrases that you can use in your day-to-day operations, such as greetings. Being able to communicate with these simple sentences and receiving a smile or a nod in return can be such a motivating factor.

At Sakuraa Nihongo Resource Centre (SNRC) your learning Japanese journey begins with simple greetings and phrases that you can start using immediately.

Next you can try your hand at the script. Most languages have a script. Being able to read can give us that extra boost of the much-needed confidence required to learn a new language. With a plethora of messaging aps being available, you can now also communicate with native speakers and fellow language learners by typing and texting as well.

Media has lots of inputs as well, for learning and practicing the script of any language. Therefore, learning a language like Japanese which has three scripts (hiragana, katakana & kanji) becomes easy.

Music can be an excellent source for learning the language. The melody and the catchy tunes help you retain vocabulary and phrases easily.  At SNRC with the help of a specialist in the field we also provided an opportunity for students to experiment with learning a language through music.

Peer learning also plays a key role. Having a group of friends or classmates makes the journey of learning a language more enjoyable. At SNRC we provide opportunities for our students to interact and network across proficiency levels to exchange ideas or thoughts on learning the Japanese language.

SNRC is starting new batches for beginners on the 15th of May 2022.
